Pablo Pinedo Bóveda is an award-winning Spanish filmmaker based in South Africa. His work has been predominantly cinematography but over the last years he has directed numerous documentaries, and currently, he is exploring new narrative avenues for storytelling. His last feature-length documentary Noma, won the Amnesty International Durban Human Rights Award at the Durban International Film Festival on June 2016. In 2013, he was one of the selected emerging filmmakers at the IDFA Academy.
He spent several years in Italy, working on cinema and in search of the Italian neo-realism. Part of his filmography includes: In Vino Veritas (Short Doc.) 2015, Sizobalwa (Short Doc) 2014 [Special mention at the Human Rights Film Festival of Bogota], Si Vis Pacem Parabellum (short-film) 2004.
