Ariana is a comedic drama which examines how a confident gay professional copes with losing control of his home when his live-in grandmother exhibits signs of dementia, and his lover becomes her caretaker.
His mother, Katherine Kazanjian, relates the heart-breaking ordeal and the journey to turn this tragedy into an avenue to help other young LGBTQ people. One such avenue is the peer support group started by the Foundation — of which this film borrows its title.
Head Counsellor at the University of the West Indies and close Foundation ally, Dr. Sarah Chin Yuen Kee, talks about the dynamics of the group from a mental health perspective.
