Caribbeantales-TV is a streaming service featuring films created by first and second generation filmmakers who come from the Caribbean and its wide diaspora. The platform features documentaries, dramas, comedies, talkshows and TV series of all lengths and genres.


By subscribing you help to support Caribbean and BIPOC filmmakers from around the world. We actively seek to work with filmmakers in a fair and equitable way in order to promote their work.


Established in 2013 with support from the Trillium foundation, CaribbeanTales-TV is the product of CaribbeanTales Worldwide Distribution Inc (CTWD) Scroll below to learn more about CTWD and what we offer BIPOC filmmakers around the world.


In 2021 CaribbeanTales-TV became formally recognized by Bell Media's Bell Fund as an official streaming platform in Canada (2021).

CaribbeanTales Worldwide Distribution Inc. is a full service distribution company offering clients the following:

Educational Sales

DVD, Digital Server Licences & Rentals


Institutions such as universities, libraries, colleges, corporations and government agencies must pay the full list price as noted:

- Up to 30 mins: $150 USD

- Up to 60 mins: $225 USD

- Over 60 mins: $300 USD


Purchase effectively means lease for the life of the videotape, videodisc or film print. The purchase includes public performance rights for classroom or library use by the acquiring institution for non-paying audiences only.

not for profit & community

Format discussed case by case.


We offer special rates* of up to 50% off the full list price on sales to selected not-for-profit and community-based organizations, with an annual operating budget of $150K or less. Documentation of not for profit status and / or annual budget may be required.


*Certain titles are excluded from this discount.

*Please enquire regarding fundraisers or any open and advertised one-off events where entrance fees are charged. Not-for-profit rates do not apply in these instances.

* We cannot offer this discount to any university-affiliated programs.

HOME VIDEO

DVD, Streaming


Home video versions are available for select titles and may be purchased by individuals for personal home viewing with family and friends only.


Prices vary by title. All home video orders must be paid by money order or credit card in advance of shipment.


RESTRICTIONS: Home video versions are for personal home use only, and programs are protected by copyright. It is strictly prohibited to screen, loan or broadcast to any group for either educational or commercial purposes.

Television & Broadcast

Various Formats


Television rights for cable, commercial or educational television are specifically NOT included with educational or home video licenses. Titles, however, may be shown on television but must be cleared for television and covered by a licensing agreement before being broadcast.

Public Screenings & Festivals

Please contact us if you would like to screen one of our films at your festival or public event, or would like advice on programming suggestions. We will be happy to negotiate a rate with you.

Duplication, reproduction, alteration, television broadcast or cablecast (except for closed-circuit use within a SINGLE campus), loaning for a fee, leasing, sub-licensing to others, or use for commercial purposes (i.e., charging admission) is strictly prohibited.

Write to Courtney Panchan at cp.caribbeantales@gmail.com, with a description of your film. If the content is suitable to our mandate, we will require a copy to be sent for viewing purposes via password protected digital upload.


CaribbeanTales seeks to work with producers of Caribbean-themed content, and content of interest to Caribbean and Caribbean-diaspora audiences. We are specifically interested in the diverse stories of Caribbean people, contemporary and historical; approaches that explore the Caribbean’s diverse culture and aesthetics, global debates that impact Caribbean societies; films and television programs that are local and specific in focus but have universal human resonance and impact. Our catalogue covers all formats including: feature narratives, short films, documentary, series, music videos, and experimental; and crosses all genres.

CTWD is part of the Caribbean Tales Media Group (CTMG) which was built over 20 years.


The CaribbeanTales Media Group is the only media group in Canada that provides an ecosystem of screen-based activities that serve Black Canadian, and culturally diverse audiences. CTMG is Black-owned, staffed and controlled. Our Board leadership and staff are mainly Black and are culturally diverse. CTMG provides a pipeline of activities from creation to distribution that aims to uplift, enrich, promote and monetise Black and culturally diverse film and television content for audiences.


In totality CTMG includes: CaribbeanTales Inc, a registered Canadian Charity; CaribbeanTales Worldwide Distribution, a film distribution entity; the CaribbeanTales International Film Festival, now celebrating 17 years; Caribbeantales-TV an SVOD streaming service; the Creators of Colour Incubator (CCI), a year-round development and production hub for Creatives of Colour; CaribbeanTalesFlix, our production arm and CineFAM, an initiative dedicated to supporting women of colour creators. 2020 saw the launch of the inaugural Windrush Caribbean Film Festival, a U.K.-based charity co-founded by CaribbeanTales-U.K. along with many amazing organizations. Most recently in 2021 CTWD launch Black Market Releasing focused on theatrical releasing of BIPOC content in Canada.
