About CaribbeanTales-TV
Caribbeantales-TV is a streaming service for films by filmmakers who come from the Caribbean diaspora.
By subscribing to CaribbeanTales-TV, you help to support Caribbean filmmakers from around the world. We actively seek to work with filmmakers in a fair and equitable way in order to promote their work to the world.
CaribbeanTales-TV is an activity of CaribbeanTales Worldwide Distribution (CTWD).
CTWD is part of the Caribbean Tales Media Group (CTMG) which was built over 20 years. The CaribbeanTales Media Group is the only media group in Canada that provides an ecosystem of screen-based activities that serve Black Canadian, and culturally diverse audiences. CTMG is Black-owned, staffed and controlled. Our Board leadership and staff are mainly Black and are culturally diverse. CTMG provides a pipeline of activities from creation to distribution that aims to uplift, enrich, promote and monetise Black and culturally diverse film and television content for audiences.
CTMG is a multifaceted group of media companies that produces, markets, and sells culturally diverse film and television content from the Caribbean and its wide Diaspora. In totality CTMG includes: CaribbeanTales Inc, a registered Canadian Charity; CaribbeanTales Worldwide Distribution, a film distribution entity; the CaribbeanTales International Film Festival, now celebrating 15 years; Caribbeantales-TV a VOD streaming service; the Creators of Colour Incubator (CCI), a year-round development and production hub for Creatives of Colour; CaribbeanTalesFlix, our production arm and CineFAM, an initiative dedicated to supporting women of colour creators. 2020 will see the launch of the inaugural Windrush Caribbean Film Festival, a U.K.-based charity co-founded by CaribbeanTales-U.K. with many amazing organizations. Recent award-winning CTMG productions include HERO - Inspired by the Extraordinary Life & Times of Mr Ulric Cross (Trinidad & Tobago/Canada 2019); Caribbean Girl NYC by Mariette Monpierre (Guadeloupe/Canada 2016); BattleDream Chronicles - A New Beginning by Alain Bidard (Martinique/Canada 2016); and Kingston Paradise by Mary Wells (Jamaica/Canada 2014).
CTWD is the proud sponsor of the CineFAM Film Festival, The CaribbeanTales International Film Festival and the Windrush Caribbean Film Festival.
